@exponet24 The Beatles wish they could sing and play as well as the Byrds. Not even in the same class
@exponet24 Paul McCartney also remarked that the Beatles’ favourite American group was ‘Sophie Tucker’. Never trust anything the Beatles said in press conferences.
@wbaranful Are you kidding?
when i was a kid in northern CA in the early ’60s it was Beatles vs. Beach Boys, but comparisons are useless. all these groups kicked ass.
roger mcguinn’s best guitar solo ever!!! no doubt…..classic! it screams 1965!
Fabulous track with Gene Clark on lead — loved this band. RIP Gene Clark and Mike Clarke!
I’m gonna tell you sons of a bitchs something. This is one of the best songs every written. Man, what a song! And if you don’t agree with me, then come over to my house and I’ll whip your ass for you. Ha! No, I love this song.
I remember watching their performance to this song with girls dancing in cages. LOL
Is it just me or does this sound very similar to Hey Joe by The Leaves? I mean as far as the guitar pattern and such
@TAFKASYFY Crosby was a damn good harmony singer
@lexo30 The Beatles, The Byrds and Dylan had a profound effect on each other. If you look (and listen) hard enough you’ll hear them say it about each other.
@theseakingsmusic I’m not denying that the Byrds influenced the Beatles – Harrison’s ‘If I Needed Someone’ is basically a Byrds rip-off. And Dylan influenced everyone. But at another time, their favourite group was the Beach Boys, and at another time again their favourite group was the Mothers of Invention. When the Beatles first invaded America in 1964, the Byrds were an unsigned folk trio playing in coffee houses. The Beatles changed their collective mind a lot, that’s all.
